Lemon Eyes

Nearsightedness (myopia) is an increasing problem among young people. Together with five fellow students, I created a website that informs parents about the dangers of myopia.

If you're nearsighted, you see distant objects blurry, but things that are close are sharp. This happens because the eyes become elongated and start to resemble a lemon. According to projections, almost half of the world's population will suffer from it by 2050.

During the project, we came up with the name Lemon Eyes. This name fits well with the shape the eyes take on with myopia, is easy to remember, and works as a playful way to explain the issue.

This project is a collaboration with BRIL Amsterdam, during my BSc Computational Social Science
